Collecting Virginia License Plates for 6 Years

Part 3 of my plate-making process. In Part 1 I threw these plates, and in Part 2 I showed how I released and turned them once they’d dried a little. Here I’m trimming while the plate is still on the bat — the low centre of gravity makes it easy to centre and keeps everything stable. I trim the base, tidy the edge, add my maker’s mark, then flip and do a final smooth and trim before leaving them to dry completely, right side up.
