The mysterious saga of the Dome Home of Cape Romano in the Ten Thousand Islands Wildlife Refuge. The Dome Home was designed and built by retired oil producer Bob Lee in 1982. It was rendered uninhabitable by Hurricane Andrew in 1992. Subsequent storms washed away the very land it stood on. Hurricane Irma in 2017 knocked down 2 of the 6 domes. A woman hiking the Marsh Trail at the Ten Thousand Islands National Wildlife Refuge called late in the afternoon to report a little blue heron entangled in fishing line hanging from a tree.
