Basketball Hall of Famer Gregg Popovich announced on Friday afternoon that after a 29-year run, he's stepping down as the head coach San Antonio Spurs. The 76-year-old will remain with the organization as its president of basketball operations.

Victor Wembanyama shared a heartfelt message to Gregg Popovich after the San Antonio Spurs announced the longtime head coach's departure from the position on Friday. Over the past 29 years, Gregg Popovich has become an NBA legend while coaching the San Antonio Spurs. He helped the franchise with its first five championships, winning three NBA Coach of the Year awards in the process.
