Typhoon Podul dropped heavy rain on southern China on August 14, 2025, which caused extensive turmoil in major cities, including Hong Kong city, after passing through Taiwan, 143 people

Typhoon Podul has crossed southeastern Taiwan, where schools and government offices were closed to wait out the storm.

A man was swept away while fishing and dozens of other people were injured as strong winds and rain battered the island.
