Tottenham Hotspur exited the Carabao Cup at the hands of Newcastle United, who cruised to a 2-0 win at St James’ Park. Thomas Frank’s team put up a strong fight against the Tyneside club, however, too many spurned chances meant they fell to defeat.

Tottenham is trying to find itself back in the winning column after a tough result last weekend. In the team’s first home match in almost a month, the Spurs dropped a 2-1 decision to Aston Villa, snapping a four-match unbeaten streak in league play.
