Two days after allowing 11 earned runs for the second time this season, Tanner Houck was placed on the 15-day injured list by the Red Sox with a right flexor pronator strain. The move is retroactive to May 13.

If the start of the 2024 season was the best stretch of Tanner Houck's career, his 2025 has easily been the worst. Houck had yet another blow-up start on Monday, allowing 11 earned runs to the Detroit Tigers in 2 1/3 innings.

The Red Sox placed the struggling right-hander on the injured list with a right flexor pronator strain prior to Wednesday’s series finale in Detroit. To fill his spot the club recalled right-hander Cooper Criswell from Triple-A Worcester.
