The team was awarded the top honor at the tournament, the program-wide civil discourse award, which covers the highest speaking scores for the delivery, courtesy and appropriate tone sections.

The UAPD Excellence Fund will provide resources for training, special projects and strategic initiatives. The fund also honors Chief Steve Gahagans and the officers who serve the university community.

Ricardo Enrique, playwright of Parts Per Million & Prophets, and Andrea Stolowitz, playwright of Recent Unsettling Events, were named co-winners of the 2025 Kernodle New Play Award Nov. 18.

Popp, a professor of agricultural economics and associate dean of the Honors College, recently served as the November 2025 Wally Cordes Chair for the Teaching and Faculty Support Center.
