Two people were rescued after their small plane went down in the Everglades. The plane was bound for North Perry Airport when it crashed west of Pembroke Pines just before 9 a.m. Tuesday morning.

The plane crashed at roughly 5:40 p.m. in the C-54 canal in the St. Sebastian River Preserve State Park, a Indian River County Fire Rescue official said.
