A broad low pressure area located near the southwestern portion of the Cabo Verde Islands has a 50% chance of becoming a cyclone in the next 48 hours, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said on Friday.

Conditions are expected to become less conclusive, and further development appears unlikely, according to the NHC.
