Jets player shares recovery update after being shot in New York: ‘Starting to breathe on my own’
New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd said he is "starting to breathe on my own now" days after he was shot in Manhattan early Sunday morning.
Kris Boyd, who was shot in New York City early Sunday, signed a one-year deal with the Jets in March but suffered a season-ending shoulder surgery.
In March, Boyd, a defensive cornerback and specialty teams player, signed a one-year, $1.6 million contract to play for the Jets, according to the team. He suffered a season-ending shoulder injury during team scrimmage in August and hasn't played since.
Boyd was shot in the abdomen in Midtown Manhattan and rushed to the hospital, where he is listed in critical but stable condition.
