World No. 1 Iga Swiatek has added Belgian Wim Fissette, a former coach to top-ranked players like Naomi Osaka, Kim Clijsters and Victoria Azarenka to her team, the 23-year-old Pole said on Thursday.

When Swiatek parted with her long-term coach Tomasz Wiktorowski two weeks ago, The Athletic reported that well-placed sources within the sport were tipping Fissette to be his replacement. Swiatek hinted at this when she said in her statement announcing the split with Wiktorowski that she was in talks with foreign coaches.

The Pole announced two weeks ago that she had split from Tomasz Wiktorowski after three hugely successful years together in which she won four grand slam titles.

Swiatek announced she had parted ways with Wiktorowski earlier this month, having worked with the Polish coach since before the start of the 2022 season. She won 19 of her 22 WTA
