Florida football coach have tried to win the game in regulation, but Billy Napier chose to kick an extra point rather than go for a 2-point conversion.

The Florida Gators fell just short of upsetting the rival Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday, losing 23-17 in overtime. Florida had won 17 of the previous 19 meetings between the two teams. The Gators were looking to extend their winning streak to three games.

Florida Gators head coach Billy Napier could've avoided overtime against the Tennessee Vols on Saturday night in Knoxville. But instead, Napier played for overtime after initially sending his offense onto the field for a two-point conversion with the Gators trailing 17-16 late in the fourth quarter.
