Elon Musk unveiled the Tesla Optimus Robot, the company's new 5'8" robot that can grab your groceries, babysit your kids and make you drinks.

The event, titled “We, Robot,” drew inspiration from the 2004 film “I, Robot,” starring Will Smith, which portrays a world where advanced robots turn on humans. The similarities between the event and the movie extend beyond the name. The autonomous vehicles and Optimus bore a striking resemblance to the technology depicted in the film.

Optimus is Tesla’s new intelligent robot, a personal assistant that Elon Musk says is comparable to the most popular robots in the world, R2-D2 and C-3PO.
