A suspect is in custody after a shooting at Waterbury's Brass Mill Center Mall left five injured. Police and federal agencies are actively investigating the incident.

Tajuan Washington, 19, opened fire after confronting another man he “had a history” of “beef” with at the Brass Mill Center in Waterbury Tuesday afternoon, striking the man and four women he was with, Mayor Paul K. Pernerewski, Jr., said during a news conference.

Five were shot and injured in a mass shooting at Brass Mill Center in Waterbury, Conn. on Tuesday, May 27. A person of interest is now in custody.
