The Boston Bruins have an injury crisis. Things were already dire with Elias Lindholm and Casey Mittelstadt absent from the lineup.

Matêj Blümel and Riley Tufte were both on the ice at Warrior Arena for morning skate before the 7 p.m. game at TD Garden. Viktor Arvidsson and Casey Mittelstadt (retroactive to Nov. 6) were both placed on injured reserve.

BOSTON — With injuries starting to mount up and down the roster, the Bruins are closer to getting a key player back. Elias Lindholm was back on the ice for morning skate on Monday. He won’t play against the Carolina Hurricanes at TD Garden on Monday night, but he’s improving.

After Saturday’s 3-2 win over the Canadiens, the Bruins moved to first place in the Atlantic Division, having won eight of their last nine games. Their 25 points are third best in the Eastern Conference, trailing only the Devils (27), and the Hurricanes (25).

There will be a homecoming on Saturday night as Mascouche, Quebec, native Jonathan Aspirot appears set to sub back into the Boston lineup. The 26-year-old made his NHL debut on Oct. 28 against the Islanders and played six games before sitting out the last two as a healthy scratch.

Blumel was recalled from AHL Providence on Monday, Belle Fraser of the Bruins' official site reports. Blumel was sent to the minors ahead of the regular season, but he'll join the NHL club after the Bruins placed several players on injured reserve Monday.
