Grapevine freshman Luke Esquivel is the player of the year on the Blue Bell/Texas Sports Writers Association Class 5A all-state baseball team. Esquivel batted .434 with 38 runs scored and 31 RBIs.

Belton outfielder Cole Haisler headed up a group of four Central Texas players who received recognition on the Blue Bell/Texas Sports Writers Association Class 5A All-State Baseball Team.
