In a controversial move, the Trump administration has authorized the sharing of personally identifiable information of 79 million Medicaid enrollees with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). A newly obtained agreement between the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and the Department of Homeland Security will enable ICE to access names,

ICE will use Medicaid data to "receive identity and location information on aliens," an agreement with the Health Department said.

The plan is the latest step by the Trump administration to gather sensitive information about people living in the U.S. as it seeks to crack down on illegal immigration.
