The Gifford fire has rapidly spread after firefighters contained the Madre fire. Together, the two blazes have already burned over 100,000 acres.

A wildfire sparked Sunday afternoon in Clearlake has spread to about 100 acres within an hour, triggering two evacuation orders, according to fire officials.

Evacuation orders have been issued for parts of Clearlake Sunday afternoon as approximately 287 acres have burned, according to Cal Fire. As of 5 p.m., the fire is now 340 acres and is five percent contained.
