KTAL Shreveport on MSNFriday weather: Depression unlikely, rain still possibleEven though it is now looking more doubtful that we will see a tropical depression form over the Gulf, scattered showers and a few thunderstorms will return to parts of the ArkLaTex on Friday. The threat of rain will continue into the weekend.
The National Hurricane Center once again dropped the likelihood of formation for the tropical system hovering just offshore of Mississippi to 30% in the next two to seven days.

Additional rainfall amounts of up to 1"-2" will be possible for much of Southeast Louisiana. Some locally higher totals will still be possible though. The National Hurricane Center (NHC) has been monitoring an area of low pressure, Invest 93-L. It now has a 0% of development as it moves through Southeast Louisiana.
Houston is expected to be hit by heavy rainfall later in the week, with a slight risk of excessive rainfall on Friday in eastern and southern parts of the area. Regardless of development, showers and thunderstorms will likely move through southeast Texas.
