An off-duty officer on Staten Island fatally shot a man who was pointing what appeared to be a real firearm, police said.

Jesse Campbell, 44, had a lengthy rap sheet of at least 22 arrests, including one for assaulting police, law enforcement sources said.

An off-duty NYPD officer shot a man wielding a BB gun on Staten Island, after he allegedly pointed it at the officers. The man, later pronounced dead, was identified as Jesse Campbell. The incident is under investigation.
