After the shooting near Oxford High School, the suspect was quickly arrested. Sheriff Michael Bouchard called it "The worst nightmare on so many levels." Records indicate that the man who authorities say opened fire on Christmas Eve, killing one and injuring two, was just discharged from prison in July.

The suspect, 29, was recently released from prison years before his maximum sentence was over despite another weapons conviction while behind bars.

There appears to be no connection between the shooter, the victim, or the location where it happened, sheriff Michael Bouchard told FOX 2 on Thursday. Instead, he called the random shooting an “incredibly violent rampage.
