Detroit Tigers right-handed reliever John Brebbia posted a 5.86 ERA with 19 walks, 67 strikeouts across 55⅓ innings in 59 games in the 2024 season.

While Brebbia’s numbers improved from there, he was still a well below average reliever by the results over the summer with a 5.40 ERA in 30 innings of work since the calendar flipped to June.

It was “BREBBIA” not “BREGMAN,” as some fans had hoped. The new guy — right-handed reliever John Brebbia — is a longtime big-leaguer if not exactly a household name.
