A lot of celebs were feeling a real pain on Thursday morning as the 2025 Oscar nominations were announced. They surely thought the Academy was the brutal-est. Downright wicked.

The nominees were revealed by comedic actors Bowen Yang and Rachel Sennott, who infused some humorous moments into the announcement. Though the morning was probably not as funny to those who didn’t receive noms, which annually sparks debate among award show viewers.

The full list of the 2025 Oscar nominations is here. The 97th Academy Awards, hosted by Conan O’Brien, will air Sunday, March 2 at 7 p.m. on ABC.

“ Emilia Pérez ” leads the Oscar nods with 13 nominations, followed by “Wicked” and “The Brutalist” with 10 each. “Emilia Pérez” star Karla Sofía Gascón made history in the Best Actress category, becoming the first openly trans performer to earn a nomination.

Rounding out the category were James Mangold (A Complete Unknown) and French filmmaker Coralie Fargeat (The Substance). Prominent omissions included Edward Berger (Conclave) and Jon M. Chu (Wicked).
