Search efforts continue after an American Airlines plane from Wichita, with 64 people on board, collided with an Army helicopter near Washington, D.C., and crashed into the Potomac River.
In the moments leading up to the collision, an air traffic controller appears to communicate with the helicopter, using the call sign PAT-25. It asks if it has the plane in sight, and then instructs it to pass behind the jet, according to a recording from LiveATC.net, a website that streams air-traffic control radio transmissions.
