The Little League team from Needville in Fort Bend County won its first four games in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, in 2023 before finishing fourth in the tournament. A team from Boerne also placed fourth last August.

Irmo’s Little League team defeated their opponents from Florida, 5-4, on Wednesday to punch a ticket to the global tournament in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. With the win, Irmo will represent the entire Southeast region for the Little League World Series.

Team Massachusetts advanced to the championship game in the Little League Baseball New England Region Tournament after crushing Vermont 10-0 on Monday. The game was called in the fifth inning. Monday's victory was the second consecutive blowout for Team Massachusetts from Braintree. They beat Team Maine 15-0 on Saturday.
