Parts of Pasco County are underwater after Hurricane Milton brought heavy rain to the area. Boats are driving where cars used to, USPS mail trucks are submerged and parts of a golf course look like islands in water.

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. - A multi-agency effort is underway to rescue residents stranded by rising floodwaters from the Anclote River in Pasco County. The flooding, a result of Hurricane Milton, has impacted the area of Mitchell Boulevard and Little Road.

On Friday the Public Safety Alert went out saying Pasco is seeing “historical flooding and water is quickly rising in low-lying areas so please leave now and get to higher ground.”

Several neighborhoods are inundated with water. Officials say historic river flooding is also spilling over into nearby lakes, retention ponds and threatening neighborhoods that typically stay dry.

The Pasco Sheriff’s Office led water rescue operations throughout the county on Thursday due to rising water levels in the wake of Hurricane Milton.

County leaders have been urging anyone who lives close to rivers or lakes to leave due to the potential of rising waters.
