Multiple casualties as gunman opened fire in the lobby of the midtown Manhattan building on Park Avenue that is home to the Blackstone investment firm and other corporations before moving to other floors.

A police officer was among the dead. The gunman carried an M4 rifle and died after shooting himself in the chest, police said.

Blackstone employee Wesley LePatner was also killed, the company said in a statement. She was the global head of Core+ Real Estate and the chief executive officer of Blackstone Real Estate Income Trust.
