(Reuters) - Tehran will not hesitate to take "stronger defensive actions" if Israel retaliates for last week's missile attack by Tehran, Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said on Friday.

Israel has vowed to retaliate to a missile strike from Iran on its territory last week, despite the US urging Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to exercise caution in a call between the two leaders on Wednesday.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met his Qatari counterpart in Doha on Thursday, after Israel warned it would retaliate against his country for a missile attack last week. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian travelled to Qatar last week where he insisted Tehran was not looking for war with Israel but vowed a stronger response in the case of an Israeli retaliation for its missile attack.
