Some parts of the U.S. could see triple-digit temperatures over the weekend, while severe storms threaten other areas, according to forecasters.

The unofficial start of summer that comes with Memorial Day weekend won’t be bringing with it weather that is typical of the hottest months. Neither, though, will it be unusually gloomy or cold, and neither will it offer extreme wind or fire conditions. Call it border-line boring.

Some rain showers will continue into Friday night with the best chances being before 4 am with lows in the upper 40s to near 50 with just a light east breeze.
