Seven Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies have been placed on administrative leave as an internal affairs investigation commences over a triple shooting in Tamarac.

The sheriff said the deputies failed to take actions that could have prevented three deaths. “There will be people that will lose their job over this,” he said.

Broward County Sheriff Gregory Tony held a news conference Wednesday afternoon regarding a weekend triple murder case, announcing the suspension of several deputies after he said an internal probe revealed serious shortcomings.

On Sunday morning, a U.S. Army vet gunned down his wife, her father and a neighbor in a quiet Tamarac neighborhood, deputies say.

The Broward County Sheriff’s Office held a press conference on Wednesday, days after the shooting death of three people in Tamarac.

"When we rectify this situation, I'm going to send the fear of God amongst this entire agency, to make damn sure we don't do this again," the Broward sheriff said.
