LOS ANGELES -- Third baseman Max Muncy was diagnosed with a Grade 1 oblique strain and landed on the injured list Friday, a major blow to a Los Angeles Dodgers team that finds itself fading in the standings.

The Los Angeles Dodgers placed third baseman Max Muncy on the injured list Friday evening prior to their weekend clash with the San Diego Padres. Muncy was a late scratch prior to the Dodgers' game on Wednesday when he felt soreness in his right side during batting practice, and now he lands on the IL.
