The Minnesota Timberwolves reached their first Western Conference finals in 20 years last season, then made one of the most controversial moves in franchise history by trading Karl-Anthony Towns. And now they're right back in the conference finals.
The Minnesota Timberwolves epically trolled the Golden State Warriors, Steph Curry, after they won their playoff series.
Minnesota is headed back to the Western Conference Finals for the second straight season, eliminating the Golden State Warriors 121-110 in Game 5. The Warriors played the final four games of the series without Steph Curry,
Butler scored 33 points on 26 shots in Game 3 but combined for only 34 on 9-of-20 shooting between Games 4 and 5.
Finch is by far the most successful coach in the history of these star-crossed Timberwolves, who've had only three of their 14 coaches even make the playoffs. They've made it in each of his four full seasons and now reached back-to-back conference finals for the first time in franchise history.
Curry, who has won four NBA titles, has lost only six playoff series in his legendary career. Three of those have been six games (including the 2019 NBA Finals), two of those have been in seven games (including the 2016 NBA Finals), and now he has his first five-game exit.
