Stellantis reported a preliminary $2.7 billion first-half loss while dealing with the impact of U.S. tariffs on vehicles and auto parts.

AMSTERDAM, July 21, 2025 – Stellantis N.V. is publishing today certain preliminary and unaudited financial information for the First Half of 2025, in addition to its global quarterly consolidated shipment estimates and commentary on related trends.

For Stellantis and Ford suppliers, new business and financial help comes with unique strings attached. That’s not to say other automakers are not tough negotiators, but the Blue Oval and maker of Jeep, Chrysler, Ram and Dodge vehicles are outliers in their hardline supplier tactics, according to those who do business with them.

Stellantis has pulled out of the Symbio joint venture, which was counting on the automaker as a client for 80 percent of its output of hydrogen fuel cells.

Stellantis announced today that it is set to end its investment in Symbio, a joint venture with Michelin and Forvia SE, by 2026.

Both automakers are requiring suppliers to agree to more restrictive agreements as a condition for securing new business and potential tariff-related financial relief.
