LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A winter weather system will impact Kentucky and southern Indiana Monday night into Tuesday morning. According to the National Weather Service, mixed precipitation will be expected with this system. Around 1 to 3 inches of snow are expected in some areas.
There are three levels. Each one requires different responses from drivers. Parking restrictions can also be put in place.
AAA is urging drivers to use caution as a wintry mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain moves into Kentucky, warning that slick roads could impact the Tuesday morning commute. The agency shared winter driving reminders and safety tips.
Morning: Cloudy and cold with slick bridges and overpasses possible. Over northern Middle Tennessee and southern Kentucky, a few secondary roads could be treacherous, too, with minor snow/sleet accumulation. Temperatures will be in the 20s and low 30s. Most areas will be dry, but scattered snow flurries will be possible.
