Gov. Brad Little announced Friday that Idaho’s National Guard will help Immigration and Customs Enforcement with administrative duties to allow ICE agents more time for law enforcement.

Governor Joe Lombardo is expected to authorize the Nevada National Guard to temporarily assist U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), a spokesperson confirmed Friday.

Such a deployment of troops — whose responsibilities typically include responding to natural disasters or helping with overseas missions — would require the approval of Republican Gov. Joe Lombardo and would mark a drastic escalation of their prior use.
