The Seattle Mariners, for the first time since 2001, are headed to the American League Championship Series. They finished off the Tigers in an epic, 15-inning Game 5 Friday, 3-2, at T-Mobile Park.

Back on the West Coast, it was pandemonium. T-Mobile Park erupted when Jorge Polanco laced a walk-off single to right field, sending the Mariners to the ALCS for the first time since 2001 and handing the Tigers an absolutely crushing, season-ending defeat.

Tigers manager A.J. Hinch walked into the T-Mobile Park interview room Friday night with the remnants of tears in his eyes, his voice cracking as he tried to put the end of his club's season in perspective.
