The Missouri legislature returned for a special session Monday, and new bills have been introduced, with one focusing on the state’s baseball teams.

Missouri state Senator Nick Schroer introduced a bill to “amend chapter 10, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to the official professional baseball team in Missouri.” This legislation would promote the St. Louis Cardinals and denigrate the Royals, who won two of three games last week at Busch Stadium.

(KCTV) - A St. Louis Republican has filed a bill during the legislature’s special session that would declare the Cardinals as Missouri’s “official professional baseball team,” as legislators debate potential stadium funding that could keep the Kansas City Royals in the Show-Me State.
