And in addition to the new devices, Apple also announced the release date of iOS 26. The software update is available for compatible iPhones, iPads and Apple Watches starting on Monday, Sept. 15. The update features a new user interface design and several new AI-powered features.
Note that simultaneous releases of iOS 18 and iOS 26 versions won’t continue indefinitely. Apple usually runs the two versions in parallel for maximum two months, to give the cautious time to get used to what’s new. But the company also wants you to get on board with the new software if you can before too long.
People living in the European Economic Area will get it for free by registering. For other users to get it for free, they need to have updated to the latest version of Windows 10, have a Microsoft account and backed up their PC settings. Otherwise, you have to pay a $30 (£22) fee or use 1,000 Microsoft Rewards points to access ESU.
