US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff has rejected Hamas' response to the proposed ceasefire deal with Israel, deeming it "totally unacceptable." Witkoff urged Hamas to accept the US framework proposal as the basis for proximity talks to secure a 60-day ceasefire.

The most recent cease-fire proposal pitched Thursday by Witkof calls for a 60-day truce as well as the release of the 10 living Israeli hostages and the bodies of 18 deceased captives.
