Siwan (Bihar): 20 people have lost their lives in Siwan on Thursday after consuming spurious liquor, as per Siwan SP Amitesh Kumar. Chapra Superintendent Kumar Ashish said that a Special Investigation Team has been formed. Three people have been arrested and an FIR has been filed against eight people.

PATNA: The death toll of hooch incidents in Bihar’s Siwan and Saran districts has risen to 26, officials said on Thursday. While 20 people died after consuming illicit liquor in Siwan district, six lost their lives in a similar incident in Saran district.

Mukul Kumar Gupta said that 38 persons were ill with most of them admitted to Sadar hospital for treatment. Gupta has also issued show cause notices to excise officials
