Across the county, Pasco’s team of rescue workers pulled more than 200 residents from their inundated homes Friday. Most rescuers hadn’t slept but a few hours a night in the past two weeks as they dealt with a back-to-back blow from major hurricanes.

Several neighborhoods are inundated with water. Officials say historic river flooding is also spilling over into nearby lakes, retention ponds and threatening neighborhoods that typically stay dry.

The Pasco Sheriff’s Office led water rescue operations throughout the county on Thursday due to rising water levels in the wake of Hurricane Milton.
