On Tuesday evening, two deputies with the Ada County Sheriff’s Office shot and killed a suspect at the Optimist Youth Sports Complex in northwest Boise.

The coroner identified the man Wednesday afternoon as Lucas Alleman, 43, of Star. Alleman was pronounced dead at the scene after deputies attempted life-saving measures, according to the Sheriff’s Office, which said he produced a handgun, prompting two deputies to fire their weapons.

The incident had nothing to do with any activities at the athletic fields, and there’s no threat to public safety.
