Detroit's J.T. Compher made it 1-0 on a tipped shot in front of Predators' goaltender Juuse Saros. Ben Chiarot sent a long shot to the net that Compher was able to redirect into the net - and he did so without getting his stick above the net, which would have been a disallowed goal.

Cam Talbot stopped 41 shots for his 32nd career shutout in his first start for Detroit and the Red Wings beat the Nashville Predators 3-0. J.T.
