At 3:23 p.m., the Naval Air Station Whidbey Island said a Navy EA-18G Growler aircraft crashed east of Mount Rainier during what was supposed to be a routine training flight. The NASWI continued to note that multiple search and rescue efforts were launched from the naval air station to find the crew and examine the crash site.
