A GP has told the BBC that patients have already enquiring about prescriptions for the "game changer" weight loss drug Mounjaro, after it became available at surgeries in England earlier this week.

A mass rollout of weight loss injections begins across the NHS on Monday, with GPs able to prescribe Mounjaro for the first time. The drug, also known as tirzepatide and manufactured by Lilly, is an antidiabetic medication that works by lowering blood sugar levels and slowing down the digestion of food.

From this weel, GPs will have the ability to prescribe weight loss injections to patients on the NHS. The NHS has confirmed that it will begin distributing these drugs in England from Monday (June 23),
