City leaders assembled on Tuesday for the planned implosion of the Jim Norick Arena, which happened just after 7:30 a.m.

The state basketball tournament is underway for the final time at the Jim Norick Arena. It marks one last go-around for the “Big House” before it is set to be demolished this spring.

Needless to say, the history within the concrete walls of the Jim Norick arena runs deep. Over 500 contestants came to compete at the Norick for one last hurrah and they put on a great show.
