Five people arrested in connection with Monday's deadly panga smuggling incident off Del Mar appeared in federal court on Friday. Three migrants died when the boat capsized on the beach, and a 10-year-old girl remains missing.

The boat was found around 6:30 a.m. Monday. Four survivors were found and seven people were thought to be missing.
