The French Navy aircraft carrier Charles De Gaulle arrived in Goa on January 4. It received a grand welcome from the Indian Navy band. The carrier, with its strike group, will engage in various naval exercises with the Indian Navy.

Western Naval Command of the Indian Navy noted that the purpose of the visit is to enhance interoperability, foster mutual understanding and strengthen ties between the navies of India and France

At present, the French CSG is deployed in the Indian Ocean where it is conducting joint training sessions with its regional partners and allies, including India

A French Carrier Strike Group (CSG) make a stopover in Goa and Kochi On Sunday (January 5). The stopovers at Goa and Kochi are part of Mission Clemenceau 25. The French aircraft carrier FNS Charles De Gaulle and its embarked air fleet is accompanied by escort vessels (frigates and supply ships).
