New York City Mayor Eric Adams has vetoed a bill approved by the City Council that sought to block a multi-million dollar casino project in the Bronx neighborhood, citing the need for jobs and investment.

The NYC Council, which voted to shut down the proposal last month, could still override the mayor’s veto with a two-thirds majority vote.
