Northeastern Arkansas saw a tornado emergency issued as a large twister hit Lake City. The tornado was a part of a storm sweeping from Texas to Ohio.

At least four tornadoes touched down in Arkansas on Wednesday, according to various National Weather Service offices.

LAKE CITY, Ark. (AP) — Parts of the Midwest and South faced the possibility of torrential rains and life-threatening flash floods Friday, while many communities were still reeling from tornadoes that destroyed whole neighborhoods and killed at least seven people.

There were more than 100 reports of severe weather from Oklahoma into Pennsylvania as of Wednesday as severe weather tore across parts of the Midwest and South, tearing buildings apart and ripping down trees and powerlines.

With severe storms moving through central Arkansas, photos have been pouring in showing dark clouds, large hail and rain.

Officials in Craighead County confirmed Thursday that at least eight people were injured during the storms that touched down Wednesday.

ADEM said that four injuries were reported in Craighead County, but no fatalities had been reported across the state as of around 10:15 p.m. on April 2.
